MACUNGIE – Application forms for Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program are now available for eligible residents to begin claiming rebates on property taxes or rent paid in 2022, according to Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh). The application can be picked up at one of his offices or can be mailed to residents who request it.

“Those who may need help in filling out the application should call my office now to schedule an appointment,” said Mackenzie. “Remember – you do not need to pay anyone for assistance to apply for the rebate. Help is available from my staff at no charge.”

To schedule an appointment at either Mackenzie’s Lower Macungie Township office or at his satellite offices in Heidelberg and Washington townships, please call 610-965-9933 or 833-933-3675 (toll-free).

The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvania residents age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters, and half of Social Security income is excluded.

The maximum standard rebate is $650, but supplemental rebates for certain qualifying homeowners can boost rebates to $975. The Department of Revenue automatically calculates supplemental rebates for qualifying homeowners.

The deadline to apply for a rebate is June 30. Rebates will be distributed beginning July 1, as required by law. Additional information is available online at revenue.pa.gov, along with the form.
