HARRISBURG – State Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) is joining Alburtis Borough, Macungie Borough and Lower Macungie Township in offering a free Latex Paint Recycling Event on Saturday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Lower Macungie Township Municipal Building parking lot, 3400 Brookside Road, Macungie.

“This is a great opportunity for area residents to easily get rid of those old cans of paints sitting in their garage or basement,” said Mackenzie. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of this free opportunity to responsibly dispose of their old paint, or donate it to the Lehigh Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore.”

Residents are invited to recycle up to 10 gallons of latex paint per household. The paint must be liquid latex in its original container and less than 10 years old.

Lehigh Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore will also be accepting usable, unwanted latex paint to reblend and resell to help fund projects to benefit the local community.

For more information, go to, or contact Mackenzie’s district office at (610) 965-9933.
