– Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) is hosting special hours in his district office on Friday, May 12, when veterans can meet with an outreach specialist from the American Legion to have their questions answered in regard to benefits and services they have earned. Mackenzie offers these services the second Friday of each month.
“Any veterans or their family members who have questions about services or benefits are encouraged to call and set up an appointment,” said Mackenzie. “This is a great opportunity to get one-on-one, personalized assistance from someone who can help navigate the VA system.”
Some of the services available to veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to veterans benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.
Appointments are offered the second Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mackenzie’s district office at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building, 3402 Brookside Road in Macungie
. Anyone interested in speaking with the department service officer should call the office at (610) 965-9933 to schedule an appointment.
