HARRISBURG – As part of his many district office services, Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) offers appointments on the second Friday of each month for veterans to meet with an outreach specialist from the American Legion. This month, appointments are still available for Friday, Feb. 10.

“Many veterans have expressed to me that they want to able to just sit down and talk with a person one on one to get answers about benefits and compensation,” said Mackenzie. “That is what I am offering through these special hours to residents in the 134th District. This is a personalized service, free to veterans and their families, and I encourage them to make use of it.”

Some of the services available to veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to veterans benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.

Appointments are offered the second Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mackenzie’s district office at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building, 3402 Brookside Road in Macungie. Anyone interested in speaking with the department service officer should call the office at (610) 965-9933 to schedule an appointment.
