HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) offers appointments on the second Friday of each month in his Macungie district office for veterans to meet with an outreach specialist from the American Legion. However, due to scheduling conflicts, appointments for Friday, Jan. 13, have been canceled. Hours will resume on Friday, Feb. 10.
Some of the services available to veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to veterans benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.
“This is a great opportunity to have a one-on-one meeting with someone knowledgeable about VA services and benefits who can guide you through the system and answer any question you may have,” said Mackenzie. “I encourage veterans to take advantage of this free, personalized service and call to make an appointment at their earliest convenience. If anyone needs assistance prior to one of our appointment times, they can always call the district office and we will connect them with the appropriate people to help them.”
Appointments are offered the second Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mackenzie’s district office at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building, 3402 Brookside Road in Macungie. Anyone interested in speaking with the department service officer should call the office at (610) 965-9933 to schedule an appointment.
