Mackenzie Announces Community Improvement Grants for 187th Legislative District
HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh) today announced the awarding of more than $44,000 in state funding for municipal projects and purchases in the 187th Legislative District. Mackenzie played a role in securing the Local Share Account (LSA) grants.
“An important part of my job is to bring state funding back home, and these grants are another example of that,” said Mackenzie. “This funding is going toward public safety and infrastructure improvements that will benefit the residents of those municipalities.”
The local grants include:
• Alburtis Borough – $11,101 toward purchase of two police cars.
• Alburtis Borough – $11,102 toward purchase of body and car cameras for police department.
• Weisenberg Township – $22,203 toward construction of maintenance building for public works department.
The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established as an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth. LSA grants are derived from gaming revenues.
