HARRISBURG – Fifteen fire and emergency medical services companies in the 134th District will receive a total of nearly $190,000 in grants from the state to help with emergency response activities, according to Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Berks/Lehigh).

“I salute the first responders in our area who dedicate themselves to keeping our communities safe,” said Mackenzie. “These grants will greatly aid them and their departments in their efforts to serve and protect the people of Berks and Lehigh counties.”

The grants are part of the Pennsylvania Fire Company and Ambulance Service Grant Program, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Office of Fire Commissioner within the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA). Over the past decade, it has provided millions of dollars to volunteer fire and emergency medical service units.
