Mackenzie: ‘Governor’s 2013-14 Budget Proposal is a Blueprint’
HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Berks/Lehigh) issued the following statement today regarding Gov. Tom Corbett’s $28.44 billion budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year:

“The governor’s proposed budget is a blueprint for my colleagues and me to draft a final plan that balances state spending with state revenue, and it’s important for people to remember that the budget proposal is just the beginning of our annual budget process. The governor’s proposals on serious issues, including education, pension reform and liquor privatization, merely lay the foundation to build upon as the Legislature starts these conversations during our upcoming budget hearings.

“My goal is passing an on-time budget that funds the core functions of government. The governor’s proposal represents a fiscally responsible budget that lives within our means and this proposal is another step in getting Pennsylvania fiscally in order.”

Additional budget proposal information can be found on the Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus’ interactive budget website at For more information, visit Mackenzie’s website at or follow his legislative Facebook page at
