HARRISBURG – On Friday, June 8, Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) will host his next veterans assistance day in his district office in Lower Macungie. During this time, veterans can meet with an outreach specialist from the American Legion to have their questions answered about benefits and services they have earned.
Services available to veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to veterans benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.
“Any veteran or family member of a veteran with questions about benefits or services available to them is encouraged to call the office and set up an appointment,” said Mackenzie. “This is a free service I am happy to provide to the men and women who have served our country.”
Appointments to talk with an outreach specialist are offered the second Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mackenzie’s district office at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building, 3402 Brookside Road, Macungie. Anyone interested in speaking with the department service officer should call the office at (610) 965-9933 to schedule an appointment.
