HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) announced that on Friday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., his district office will host appointments with an outreach specialist from the American Legion for veterans who have questions about benefits and services they have earned.
“Because of our veterans, we enjoy the freedoms we have today, so it is my honor to provide a service to them,” Mackenzie said. “Talking to an accredited field service officer often results in veterans and their families learning about programs and benefits that they didn’t know were available. Connecting these men and women with these services is critical and a sincere way to thank them for their service.”
Services available to veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to veterans benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.
Veterans assistance hours are offered the second Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mackenzie’s district office at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building, 3402 Brookside Road, Macungie.
Appointments are necessary. Please call Mackenzie’s district office at 610-965-9933 to schedule an appointment with the field service officer or with any questions.
