HARRISBURG – On Friday, July 13, Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) will host veterans assistance hours in his district office in Lower Macungie. During these special hours, veterans are able to meet with an outreach specialist from the American Legion to have their questions answered about benefits and services they have earned.
“I encourage any veterans in the area who may have a question or need help navigating the VA system to give my office a call and set up an appointment,” said Mackenzie. “This is a free service I am able to offer, with the help of the American Legion, to the great men and women who have served our country.”
Services available to veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to veterans benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.
Appointments to talk with an outreach specialist are offered the second Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mackenzie’s district office at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building, 3402 Brookside Road, Macungie. Anyone interested in speaking with the department service officer should call the office at (610) 965-9933 to schedule an appointment.
