HARRISBURG – State Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) is teaming up with Sen. Pat Browne (R-Lehigh) and Lower Macungie Township to offer residents an opportunity to have documents containing personal or sensitive information shredded as a means of protection against identity theft.
The Shredding Event will be held on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building parking lot (outside Mackenzie’s district office). The address is 3400 Brookside Road, Macungie
“By shredding paperwork that contains birth dates, Social Security numbers, bank account information and other sensitive or identifying information, we can better protect ourselves from identity thieves,” said Mackenzie. “I encourage area residents to take advantage of this free and convenient service.”
There is a four-box limit of paper per person. Unfortunately, documents from businesses cannot be accepted at this time. The event is restricted to individuals only.
“I appreciate being able to join with Rep. Mackenzie and Lower Macungie Township to provide this opportunity for residents to safely and conveniently get rid of sensitive information and documents, which will help reduce the risks of identity theft,” Browne said.
For more information, please call Mackenzie’s office at (610) 965-9933.
