Veterans Assistance Hours Slated for Jan. 10, Says Mackenzie
12/17/2019
HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) will be holding his monthly veterans assistance hours on Friday, Jan. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. At that time an outreach specialist from the American Legion will be available to meet with veterans to discuss the benefits and services they have earned.

“Due to the popularity of these specialized hours, I plan to continue hosting veterans assistance hours each month throughout 2020,” said Mackenzie. “Veterans needing assistance, or those who have questions about their benefits and services, are encouraged to contact the office and schedule an appointment.”

Services available to veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to veterans benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.

Appointments to talk with an outreach specialist are offered the second Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mackenzie’s district office at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building, 3402 Brookside Road, Macungie. Anyone interested in speaking with the department service officer should call the office at 610-965-9933 to schedule an appointment.
