Mackenzie Says Veterans Assistance Hours Slated for April 12
HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) announced that on Friday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., he will host appointments with an outreach specialist from the American Legion in his district office for veterans who have questions about benefits and services they have earned.

“This is a regular service I am glad to provide,” said Mackenzie. “The veterans who come in are happy to have someone sit down with them and answer their questions and assist them with whatever they need. The VA system can sometimes be difficult to navigate, so having a person who can walk them through it is very helpful.”

Services available to veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to veterans benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.

Appointments to talk with an outreach specialist are offered the second Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mackenzie’s district office at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building, 3402 Brookside Road, Macungie. Anyone interested in speaking with the department service officer should call the office at 610-965-9933 to schedule an appointment.
